Gospel composer, conductor, and choirmaster serving as Minister of Worship and Arts at Mount Ararat Baptist Church. A National Minister of Music within the GMWA and founder of 4 The Caz of Christ, with ministry that has reached across the globe.

How The Election Works

The Voting Process

Board members are elected by the GMWA family. Here is how a vote is cast.

Be a GMWA Member

You must be a member of the Gospel Music Workshop of America to take part in the election.

Badged & Present

You must be registered with your badge and present on-site at the Convention.

One Vote Per Person

Every eligible member casts a single vote. One person, one vote.

The King of Gospel Music. Founded the GMWA in 1967 and led it until his passing in 1991.

Executive Director

Edward M. Smith

Business manager to Rev. Cleveland and a builder of the workshop, who bridged gospel into the wider industry.

Dr. Rodena Preston

National Director of Operations and board member, saluted as a Gospel Music Treasure and Legacy.
